City Cinema opened September 28, 1993 with a screening of Strictly Ballroom and for over 30 years it has been a home for film in Charlottetown. It’s a place where audiences discover new stories, filmmakers find a community and people come together through the shared experience of watching films together.
The Charlottetown Film Society, a member-supported, non-profit organisation, has owned City Cinema since 2019. Become a member and follow the Film Society on Facebook for news, events and behind-the-scenes updates!
City Cinema is your cinema… supported by the community, shaped by the people who walk through our doors, and dedicated to film in PEI.
