City Cinema has a new projector!

City Cinema replaced its aging projector with a much more efficient new laser projector. The has reduced operating costs (no more expensive bulb replacements, fewer service calls from off-Island, lower maintenance requirements, and much less electricity needed with fewer emissions as a result) while providing a long-lasting (50,000+ hours) light source and many other upgrades. The image technology is improved with better colour and contrast producing a more accurate, consistent presentation.

Having an up-to-date, reliable projector under warranty frees up a lot of time and resources that were being spent to maintain our old projector. Those resources can now be spent on furthering our core mission of promoting film to the Island community.

However a professional projector of this nature costs over $50,000.

Our loyal patrons have generously supported this cause but we still have some debt we would like to fully pay off.
